Mushroom Swiss Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs ground beef

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

  • 4 burger buns

  • Optional toppings: caramelized onions, lettuce, garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 burger patties.

  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté mushrooms until browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. Grill burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness. During the final minute of cooking, top each burger with Swiss cheese and allow it to melt.

  5. Toast buns lightly on the grill if desired.

  6. Assemble burgers with sautéed mushrooms and your favorite toppings. Serve warm.
