Servings: 2-4 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2-4 filet mignon steaks

  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • Optional: fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to high heat (450-500°F).

  2. Pat steaks dry and rub lightly with olive oil.

  3. Season evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.

  4. Place steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.

  5. Optional: add herbs to the grill or baste lightly with butter during the last minute.

  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer (130-135°F for medium-rare).

  • Letting the steak rest is key to keeping it juicy and tender.

  • Simple seasoning works best. Quality beef doesn’t need much more.
