A simple, high-quality grilled filet mignon that lets the natural flavor of the beef shine. Light seasoning and a hot grill are all you need for a tender, restaurant-quality steak at home.
Servings: 2-4 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
Ingredients
2-4 filet mignon steaks
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Optional: fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme)
Instructions
Preheat the grill to high heat (450-500°F).
Pat steaks dry and rub lightly with olive oil.
Season evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
Place steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
Optional: add herbs to the grill or baste lightly with butter during the last minute.
Remove from heat and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a meat thermometer (130-135°F for medium-rare).
Letting the steak rest is key to keeping it juicy and tender.
Simple seasoning works best. Quality beef doesn’t need much more.
