Whole Beef

The $400 payment will reserve a whole beef for the buyer.  Our processing calendar varies from year to year, with our next dates falling in June and December of 2025.

Typically, our cattle weigh in between 700-750 pounds of hanging weight, which is the weight of the animal after the head, hide, feet, and internal organs have been removed.  A hanging weight between 700—750 pounds will equate to a take-home weight of approximately 400-450 pounds of frozen beef.  Every animal is different, and your take-home weight will also depend on your choice of bone-in or boneless cuts, and whether you request soup bones and organ meats.

All of our beef will be dry-aged for 10-14 days.

The final cost including all processing, cutting, and packaging will be $6.25/lb of hanging weight.  For instance, a whole beef with a hanging weight of 700 lbs will be invoiced at $4,375, and you can expect approximately 400 lbs of frozen, vacuum packaged beef.  Based on the actual hanging weight, we will contact you with the final amount due (minus your $400 deposit), which will be payable upon pickup of your beef at Hedgeapple Farm in Buckeystown, Maryland.  Should you need your beef delivered locally, you may contact us to request local delivery for an additional fee based on travel distance.  

Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.  Once you have made your deposit, we will contact you with cut sheet options and provide you with any help in making your selections.
