The $300 payment will reserve a whole hog for the buyer. Our next processing date falls in September 2025.

Typically, our hogs weigh in between 200-250 pounds of hanging weight, which is the weight of the animal after the head, hide, feet, and internal organs have been removed.A hanging weight for a whole hog at 200-250 lbs hanging weight will equate to a take-home weight of approximately 120-150 pounds of frozen pork.Every animal is different, and your take-home weight will also depend on your choice of cuts, bone-in vs. boneless, organ meats, etc.

The final cost of your hog will be based upon both of the following:

1) The actual hanging weight of your hog, which will be invoiced by Hedgeapple Farm at $4.99/lb; for instance, a hanging weight of 200 lbs will be invoiced at $698 (subtracting your initial $300 deposit).

2) Your choice of cuts (i.e., cured hams, sausage, bacon, etc.) as selected on your cut sheet and invoiced by the processor; while this can vary considerably based on your personal preferences, the cost might range from $250-$450.

For a whole hog with a hanging weight of 200 lbs you can expect approximately 120 lbs of frozen, vacuum packaged pork.

Based on the actual hanging weight, we will contact you with the amount payable to Hedgeapple Farm and your processing fee, dependent on your choice of cuts and curing, payable to our processor prior to pickup.Payment for the hanging weight will be due upon pickup of your pork at Hedgeapple Farm in Buckeystown, Maryland.

Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.Once you have made your deposit, we will contact you with cut sheet options and provide you with any help in making your selections.
